What is The Weekend to End Breast Cancer®?
The Weekend to End Breast Cancer benefiting Jewish General Hospital is your chance to discover what it means to be a hero. During one amazing weekend, August 22-24, 2008, thousands of women and men will join forces in Montreal to walk 60 kilometres and make a real difference in the fight to end breast cancer. The money you raise will benefit Jewish General Hospital, a leader in this critical cause, and a McGill University teaching hospital. One in nine Canadian women will be diagnosed with breast cancer, maybe even someone special in your life. So we are joining forces to fund breast cancer research and care so that we may end this heartbreaking disease for good. We need your fighting spirit and determination.

100% of every donation goes directly to the Jewish General Hospital, an international leader in the fight against cancer. From there the Jewish General Hospital invests in their breast cancer research, prevention, and treatment programs and pays for the costs of the event. The hospital is committed to breast cancer research at the Segal Cancer Centre at the Jewish General Hospital, moving us a step closer to the end of the disease.

Le Week-end pour vaincre le cancer du sein au bénéfice de l’Hôpital général juif est votre chance de découvrir ce que signifie être un héros. Au cours de cette incroyable fin de semaine, du 22 au 24 août 2008, des milliers de femmes et d’hommes uniront leurs forces pour marcher 60 Km dans les rues de Montréal afin de faire une véritable différence dans la lutte contre le cancer du sein. L’argent que vous amasserez sera versé à l’Hôpital général juif, un chef de file dans la lutte contre le cancer du sein et un hôpital d’enseignement de l’Université McGill. Une canadienne sur neuf sera diagnostiquée d’un cancer du sein. Ces femmes peuvent être un être cher de votre entourage. Alors unissons nos forces pour financer la recherche et les soins afin qu’un jour, nous puissions mettre fin à cette terrible maladie pour de bon. Nous avons besoin de votre esprit combatif et de votre détermination.
Le Week-end pour vaincre le cancer du sein est une aventure que vous n’oublierez jamais.
La totalité des dons est directement versée à l’Hôpital général juif, un chef de file international dans la lutte contre le cancer. L’Hôpital général juif investit d’abord ces fonds dans leurs différents programmes de recherche, de services et de traitements liés au cancer du sein, et utilise une portion de l’argent pour défrayer les coûts de l’événement. L’hôpital est fortement engagé dans la recherche sur le cancer du sein au Centre du cancer Segal à l’Hôpital général juif, nous rapprochant pas à pas de la victoire sur cette maladie.
